Q: Why do I need to pay first for a custom Ambigram design? Can I see it before I pay for it?
A: In order to accurately represent your custom Ambigram to its full potential, Mark has to draw each and every design out fully from start to finish. That process can take anywhere from an hour to many hours depending on the complexity if each individual design. A quick initial sketch by Mark will not reflect the true styling and readability that your final finished design will achieve. Taking payment before starting a custom Ambigram also ensures that Mark’s time is not taken advantage of and that he can be as efficient as possible.

Q: What if I am not satisfied with my finished custom Ambigram?
A: This situation DOES NOT happen often. However, if after you have received your custom Ambigram, and you are not satisfied with it for whatever reason, Mark is always willing to work with you to adjust the design until it meets exactly what you’re looking for. In the event that you are unsatisfied and Mark is unable to do anything more with your particular custom design, we will be happy to refund your money to you upon your request. Q: I live in a country outside of the U.S. Can I still place an order?
A: We accept all major credit cards with a Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover logo on them. Upon approval of your transaction, the funds will be automatically converted into U.S. Dollars. We also accept Paypal from all countries currently able to send Paypal transactions.

Q: How will I get my custom Ambigram design delivered to me? What if I live outside the US?
A: Upon completion of your order, Mark will send an E-mail containing your custom Ambigram to the E-mail address that you provided at the time of placing your order.

Q: How long will it take for me to receive my custom design?A: We offer two different options for getting your custom ambigram design drawn.

1. Mark’s standard custom design service is 7-10 business days. During weeks that he receives more orders than he can physically do, you will be notified if your wait will be longer than the 10th business day.
2. ASAP Custom Order – For an additional charge of $100 to your order, Mark will draw and deliver by E-mail your design in just 4-48 hours. He will also draw on weekends and holidays to ensure that these orders are completed ASAP. This option is often used by customers that have tattoo appointments or conventions to attend and need a design right away to make that appointment.

Q: In what digital format will I receive my design?
A: Your design will be sent in a .ZIP file containing 4 files. You will receive your filled in black design in a .JPG format as well as a vector .PDF. And the matching stencil for your design will also be in a .JPG format and a .PDF format. Any computer can view and print a .JPG image file. Adobe Reader, Photoshop or Illustrator will be required to open a .PDF. However, using graphics tools like Illustrator or Corel will allow you to blow up the .PDF file to billboard size without losing any of the quality of the image.

Q: What size do the designs come in? Can I have my design delivered to me in a specific measurement?
A: Each design comes fit to a piece of 8 ½” X 11” paper for you to print out. From that point, we recommend you and your tattoo artist discuss the sizing and location to fit your specific needs. Any tattoo artist or shop should have a copy machine for reducing and enlarging, as well as a thermal-fax machine for applying the stencil to your skin. If you have specific sizing requirements that you would like for us to help you with, please contact us and we can size the images for you as well.

Q: Can you draw an ambigram word or phrase for me in German, Danish, Spanish, Latin, Greek, French, Italian or another language?
A: Definitely. If you’re looking for an Ambigram that uses mostly the Roman Alphabet such as: (Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk Ll Mm Nn Oo Pp Qq Rr Ss Tt Uu Vv Ww Xx Yy Zz), then Mark can draw an Ambigram for you in that language. Many languages that also contain some special characters either over or under Western Characters can also be included. Such as (ñ, ë) and many others. Please contact us with your specific request.

Q: What languages can you not draw Ambigrams in?
A: Mark specializes in languages that are written using primarily letters found in the Roman Alphabet (see above question). Any language that uses pictographic characters such as Chinese and Japanese or letters other than those included in the Roman Alphabet such as Greek and Arabic are not candidates for an Ambigram.

Q: Can you draw my custom Ambigram so that it reads vertically?
A: Unfortunately, vertical ambigrams rarely look good. This is because Ambigrams almost always rely on combinations of letters and readability is established by context that is created only in lettering that is drawn horizontally.

Q: What Can I use my custom Ambigram for? Do I own the copyright?
A: You can use your specific custom Ambigram for a tattoo or a small number of reproductions such as t-shirts or stickers - that kind of thing. If you would like to purchase the copyright to your custom design along with an unlimited reproduction clause, please contact us and we will work out a deal.

Q: I am interested in having you design a logo for my band/business. What are the terms for logo usage?
A: Prices for Ambigram logos for bands range from $500-5000 depending on the level of amateur/professional status and the rights sold or retained by Mr. Upsidedown. When inquiring, please describe the group's status.

Prices for Ambigrams for small business uses range from $500-2000 depending on 1. the use of the Ambigram, 2. the size, scope, and range of the business, and 3. The rights sold or retained by Mr. Upsidedown. Prices for large companies, institutions, and corporations will be determined on a project by project basis.

Q: What lettering styles do you have available?
A: The sky is pretty much the limit in terms of the style of your custom Ambigram. Cursive, Black Letter and Old English fonts definitely work the best in terms of readability and flow. However, if you have a particular font in mind for your custom Ambigram, Mark will do his best to use the specific characteristics of that font when fulfilling your order. In addition, Graffiti IS available for your custom Ambigram if you choose! But, due to the added complexity of the graffiti style, these designs do cost more and should be inquired about before placing an order. Unfortunately, tribal lettering is not available.

Q: Can Mark incorporate numbers into my custom Ambigram?
A: Unfortunately, numbers lack the context that letters possess and thus can almost never be incorporate into an Ambigram.

Q: I want one of the designs already on your website in a different lettering style. Is that considered a custom order?
A: Since Mark takes the time to hand-draw each Ambigram, the answer is Yes – if the design exists on the website and you would like it drawn in a different style it IS considered a custom Ambigram order.

Q: I'm interested in an ambigram of a phrase that is a bit long. Is there a cost difference for longer words/phrases?
A: Yes, longer phrases (longer than 8 letters) and more complicated Ambigrams (circles, diamonds, other shapes) will cost more. Basically, the more time the Ambigram will take for Mark to complete, the more expensive it will be.
